Before mounting, the cylinder should be tapped lightly with a mallet to determine if the disc has been damaged. A clear sound indicates that it is OK. Make sure that the steel mounting plate and the back of the cylinder is clean and flat with no burrs and no obstructions in the mounting holes.

Insert all of the screws through the mounting plate and into the cylinder, finger tight. Center the abrasive by feel, then tighten each screw as shown below. Proceed from one screw to one diametrically opposite then in a criss-cross manner until all screws are tightened. Ten to fifteen pounds of torque should be applied.
